Training on Comfar III Expert in Pune

In order to disseminate the UNIDO ITP tools [ Comfar III] for the association A 5 day orientation programme for the associations was organised at Pune in January 2009 from 27th -31st January 2009. About 15 participants took part in the workshop. CII, MCCIA, NRICCA, Pimpri Chinchwad industrial estate association, Ranjangoan industrial estates association, BYST, Cross over participated in the meetings.

A Market Survey on the awareness about PE VC was organised by Mr Toshiaki Ono, JPO, UNIDO Regional office with Chapaker CEO and the Financial Team in Pune. The team also visited companies in Chennai from 19th -22nd June 2009.
Training on COMFAR III Expert Level II in Pune

A Training programme on one of the UNIDO TIP tools called Comfar III [level 2] was organised in Pune for the staff of Confederation of Indian Industry, Maratha Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture and the Nagar Road Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 7th-9th May & 14th -16th May 2009. These participants were short listed from the larger group of people who participated in the previous programme.
Workshop on BPI tools from Associations in Chennai

Workshop on BPI tools an orientation on BPI tools were organised for the members of the associations at the Indian Shoe federation conference hall on June 2009. Representatives of about 10 associations participated in the programme. This was an introductory programme where the demo of various UNIDO ITP Tools was explained to the associations. Members of associations like Confederation of Indian Industry, Tamil Nadu, Technology Promotion and Development Center, Indian Shoe Federation, Indian Finished Leather Manufacturers Association and the CII Tamil Nadu office staff participated in the orientation programme.
Training on Comfar III Expert Level II at Chennai

In the globalized world, we have to establish useful relationship with the associations in other countries, it is essential for the local associations to be able to know the members and recommend for joint ventures with appropriate accuracy. Five associations in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India were trained to use a Unido tool called Comfar III Expert for the evaluation of the Joint Venture projects before the recommendations for the Joint ventures. Comfar III is the UNIDO tool for the purpose. Level 2 Programme was organised in Chennai between 9th-11th July 2009 and 17-19th July 2009. Representatives of the associations like Confederation of the Indian Industries, Tamil Nadu Technology Development and Promotion Centre, Indian Shoe Federation, Indian Finished Leather Manufacturers Association and the Ambattur Industrial Estate Association participated in the meeting. Three UNIDO project staff also benefited from the programme.
Interaction and B2B with technology providers from France

Visit of Technology Providers from Lyon Auto Cluster, France along with UBI France to Chennai on 26th of february 2009. The India/Chennai auto cluster was introduced to UNIDO ITPO Marseille and Lyon Auto Cluster last year and this delegation is a result of that effort. Mr Christophe Commeau, Commercial Attachã©, French Trade Commission and Mr Daniel Lehouchu Commercial Counsellor UBI France briefed the mission objectives the technology providers were AMG, Atherm, D2T, EAS International, Technipoles, Present Overseas Engineering Solutions, LUTB - Lyon Urban Trucks and Bus and Coteba met over 50 Indian companies in Chennai during the B2B Session that followed.
Seminar on Business Opportunities in the European Market

Visit of Belgium Delegation to Chennai, on 21 April 2009. Mr Jean-Pierre Muller, Trade Commissioner, AWEX, New Delhi introduced the delegation and Mr. Michel Kempeneers, Head-Asia Pacific, Wallonia Foreign Trade and Investment Agency-AWEX presented Wallonia's strategic advantage as a base for Indian companies in Europe. Information on the competitive strenghts of the region were presented, as well as aspects of setting up a marketing/distribution centre in Belgium, governmental assistance, business entities, taxation, financial incentives, employement, social security in Belgium and availability of business incubators. Over 100 participants joined the seminar.

Interaction with Vietnam Delegation on Investment and Technology Promotion Initiatives

A two member team from UNIDO Vietnam visited Chennai from 12th-16th July 2009. They met representatives from various Industry Associations like Confederation of Indian Industry, Ambattur Industrial Estate Manufacturers Association, Indian Shoe Federation, MSME Foundation, Indian Finished Leathers Manufacturers & Exporters Associations, Central Footwear Training Institute and Central Leather Research Institute.
